Home & Dashboard
The Home page is the default landing view in Aethrix Studio. It has two tabs: Get Started (onboarding for new users) and Dashboard (daily usage overview). The Dashboard is selected automatically once you have real history to show (a sent request or an automation project with content); everyone else lands on Get Started. The welcome hero copy differs between first-run users (no recent activity and no completed onboarding step) and returning users.

Welcome bar
Always visible at the top, a greeting adapts to the time of day (for example, "Good morning", "Good afternoon"). Two quick-action buttons are always shown:
| Button | Action |
|---|---|
| add New Test Project | Create a new automation project |
| download Import API Spec | Open the API specification import dialog |
Get Started tab
A 4-step onboarding guide for new users. Above the cards, a progress line shows "n of 4 completed" with a bar. Each card carries an explicit state badge and is clickable, navigating to the corresponding view:
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Done | Step completed (derived from your saved work — imported specs, saved requests, projects, simulation responses); the card is muted and shows a checkmark |
| Next step | The first incomplete step, highlighted in the accent color |
| To do | Not started yet |
| Step | Title | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Import API Spec | Import your OpenAPI, WSDL or Kafka specification to discover and test your services. |
| 2 | API Playground | Send HTTP, SOAP, GraphQL and Kafka requests interactively and inspect responses. |
| 3 | Automate Tests | Build data-driven, load and CI/CD-integrated automated test projects. |
| 4 | Simulate Services | Mock backend APIs with configurable responses to test without live dependencies. |
Below the guide, three buttons link to further areas: Build API Extension, Test Utilities, and View introduction (opens the introduction docs page). The tab also shows resource links, What's New, and App Info (version, platform, build date).
Dashboard tab
The daily-usage dashboard provides a high-level overview of your workspace activity.
Top sections
| Section | Content |
|---|---|
| Last Services Tested | Recently accessed API services and operations (up to 9) |
| Last Automation Projects | Recent test automation projects (up to 9) |
| Test Overview | Usage analytics panel with time filters (see below) |
Test Overview
The analytics panel header is "Test Overview". Time-filter pills let you scope the data:
| Filter | Range |
|---|---|
| Today | Current day |
| 7 days | Last week (default) |
| 30 days | Last month |
The panel shows per-module sections — API Testing, Test Automation, and Service Simulation — each rendered only when the selected period contains data for that module. Metrics include Requests Sent, Pass Rate, Tests Executed, Avg. Response and more, each with a per-day sparkline (hover a bar for per-day values; days without activity render as a thin baseline).
Service Simulation status
A panel titled Service Simulation lists your configured simulation servers with their status (Running / Inactive) and port. When no servers are configured it shows "No simulation servers available." A Go to Service Simulation → link navigates to the simulation view.
What's New & Resources
- What's New — recent product updates and feature announcements.
- Resources — links to documentation, community, and support (Go To: Home Page, Aethrix Documentation, How To: API Playground, Report bugs & make suggestions, Check Latest Version). Additional how-to links for automation, simulation, and DevOps integration are hidden until their documentation pages are published.
